Buy from the plug, post up on a corner, and sell to whoever walks over. Hold that corner and you take a cut of everything moved on it — which is why everyone else on the street wants it.
Nobody dies in a fight here. You wake up in a clinic and whoever put you there keeps what you were carrying. What kills you is the thirty days.
Five products, eight neighbourhoods, and a different price for each of them in every one. Buy where it is cheap, carry it somewhere it is dear, and be worth something on day thirty. You start with $2,000 in your pocket and $5,500 of somebody else's money.
Wholesale, both directions, and he does not haggle. Walk to him, press E, and take what you can carry — your rank decides the size of your coat, and nothing else will let you carry more. Buying and selling are the same counter.
Every day something happens somewhere. A bust, a drought, a shipment off the back of a truck. It moves one product in one neighbourhood, hard, and it is the whole reason to get on a train. The card at dawn tells you, and so does the board at the CTA platform, with the fare beside it.
Press P to post up and people come to you, at about 35% over wholesale. Stand on one corner long enough and you hold it — after that you take 12% of everything anybody else moves there. Selling raises your heat, and heat brings a patrol.
The bank pays 1.2% overnight and cannot be robbed, but you cannot spend what is in it. Vito lends at 4.5% a day and compounds it whether you trade or not. Clearing what you owe him is the best thing money can do for you.
Nobody dies here. You wake up in a clinic, out until the next day, and whoever put you down keeps half of what you were carrying. Nothing can touch you while you are standing at a counter with a panel open, or while you are on a train.
A day is four minutes, shared by everyone on the server. On day thirty you retire whether you are ready or not, and what you are worth goes on the board — less whatever you still owe.
Everyone you see walking is playing right now. They can take a corner you were holding, turn over a stash house you paid for, and rob you in the street. Press M and they can hear you.

Four gangs run Chicago. You will be wearing one of them for thirty days — they cannot shoot you, they do not tax your corner, and the other three can see exactly whose colours you are in.
